Vile. Vile is the word. 'Evil' doesn't get it, 'wicked' doesn't quite get it, but 'vile' manages to convey the connotation of the Hebrew word 'ra'.

I had forgotten just how bad that was. And how there was that feeling that 'well, y'know, we've got these poor saps believing they're under our control, why don't we torment them some more with something barely justified by some tenuous connexion with the prison experience.' Jeebus fuck. And that guy was president of the APA. Jee. Bus. Fuck.

I'm comforting myself by reading Survival in Auschwitz. Which is the best Holocaust book ever written, but still. Jesus fucking himself up the arse.

Oh, godsfuck. I find myself utterly devastated that a certain woman was at neither Friday nor Sunday dance. And I'd written her off months ago when she'd stopped coming, but I saw her again last week. And I was seriously gonna try talking to her this time. Really.

And-- like, I've seen how she looks at me, felt how she dances with me, I know she's interested. But when I've tried talking, she dodges, said things that reply, but don't really give me good ways to reply in turn. Which probably means she's as shy as I am. Which means in turn that I need to take initiative. Which I suck ass at, being painfully shy.

Sigh. And I've decided I really can't count on her continuing to show up, that next time I see her I need to get her digits...
